Strange knocking sound coming from front left of car when braking

Just today, my cadillac cts 05 with about 50k miles was on the road, and i start to hear this "knocking" sound when i start breaking. We just bought it used and the car drove and sounded fine right up until today.

The knocking goes away once your at a full stop or when you are accelerating or going at a constant speed. It only happens when you start to break and it doesnt start immediately. It takes a good 10 minutes of driving before this issue kicks in. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? or a solution?

Do a search on this forum for knocking, thumping or creaking when braking. I think there is some info about the lower rear arm bushing for the front suspension being bad. I thnk there was a service note or a recall on it. If you have any warranty, bring it to the dealer. Mine does it when it's cold and rainy outside. My warranty is over so I just live with it. However it may be something else like a strut.

My car is doing something similar. It is not necessarily a clucking noise but rather a non metallic noise. They are replacing the tie-rods and control arms.

Mine was doing something similar, but not while "BRAKING"

They replaced the control arms, and the drivers front strut.
