Accelerating Problems... Please Help

Well I just went on a little road trip and I found my car having ploblems accelerating. When I was getting ready to pass some one on the express way I pressed the gas and my car started SPUTTERING REAL BAD... then the check engine light would blink about six times and go off. It only seemes to do it under hard accelerating. Could it be a spark issue. The car just reached 99,000m on it. Any info would be appreciated thanks..

I'm Assuming you have the 04 with the 3.6 engine. Maybe you can hit the F1 + F6 together to read the code it was throwing. If not stop by an Autozone and have them read the code and do a search on this forum for the results. Best I can do.

So many things that could be....need more info man.

Bad gas, clogged injectors, clogged fuel filter, bad spark, etc...

Read your owners manual.. it is written:

Light Flashing — A misfire condition has been
detected. A misfire increases vehicle emissions
and may damage the emission control system
on your vehicle. Diagnosis and service may
be required.

Change the spark plugs and you are good to go!

Thanks for all of the replies. I have been putting Some of that gas treatment that is suppose to clean your injectors and stuff at my last two oil changes so I hope that does not have anything to do with it.

Will the F1 + F6 thing work with a car with Navigation?
I will try it first thing in the morning either way, hopefully it tells me somthing.

If all else fails I guess I will check the spark plugs.
