    Drl - audi a8 type

I really like how the R8 headlights look like with the led strip as DRL. However I cannot find the way to put the strip inside the headlight without losing the integrity of the housing.

For that reason, I'm thinking about something like this:

    http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/f-q...led-strip.html

The strip is located in the gap between the bumper and the headlight, but I would protect the strip with methacrylate, as shown in this thread:

    http://www.clubmeganecc.com/foro/showthread.php?t=15434

The second option is to build "angel eyes" to be located in the same gap, with a methacrylate stick and a led. Of course it will fit with the shape of the bumber and the headlight.

Which one is best in your opinion?

I think it will work, there is already a space between the bumper and the light. I like the first or second option.

My friend is actually doing something similar to this with his Subaru. He's got some great molding skills and electrical knowledge and if all goes well, I'm going to have him try something on the CTS.

    Drl - general write up

Let me give you a first write up for any car. I took the info from a Spanish site for Renault cars, but it will work for us.

It's quite easy so taking it as a start line we all can add our own ideas to bring it to a more professional finishing. Once I finished my installation I will update it with the CTS procedure.

Re: Drl - audi a8 type

    Nasty,

I agree with sammy, between the bumper and the light is plenty of space for a flex-led strip (such as the one on your first link). Although it won't look as clean as the Audi i think it should look sharp.

I will order the strips and put them on as soon as i get them. All i need to do is measure how long of a strip i need - they come in 9.5" and 19" - which really sucks because i think all i needs is about 12" - i'll post back here when i confirm the length.

I do notice that the LED strip contains LED's that are TOO close to each other. I like the look the Audi has with the LED's spaced out a bit. I'm thinking about covering every other LED to give it that same look. A simple black tape should be fine in case i change my mind.

Update: i just measured the lights - 11.5 inches from outside to in and 7.5 inches from inward to the edge of the hood. I also ordered 2 LED strips 19" from the following company

    woot woot - can't wait!!!!

Did you order Blue or White? On the LED strip, you may be able to remove or cut every other one instead of covering them with black tape. It may give it a better finished look. Keep us posted and send Pics.
