Function of Navigation w/o antenna

Curious if my OEM navi unit will function w/o the antenna and VSS wires hooked up to it.

Obviously, it is not going to work for navigation purposes. I just don't have time to run the wiring but the unit should be here tomorrow, could I simply just swap the harness' to the new radio, have it unlocked and work?

The only reason I ask is because I'm shipping out my old OEM 6disc out once I get the new unit in, and won't have time to wire up the VSS and GPS ant for a couple weeks. It would really suck if I couldn't have my music for a couple weeks.

Any insight?

The audio features will work fine, but the map will have your triangular icon spinning in circles.

It would work perfectly fine without the antenna.
