I wouldnt do that. If youre in a wreck that deploys the side airbags youre going to get smacked in the face by a pod traveling at 200+ mph.

I would disable that airbag if you do this. It can literally kill you if it goes off.

There was a guy selling one in the CTS-V classifieds. but I wouldnt mount one there either. Maybe in the ashtray or between the steering wheel and cluster.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't think there is an airbag behind that cover, I had to remove it to run a wire and i didn't see an airbag. It must come out from somewhere else.

theres one packed in my a pillar...it's marked by the little airbag cover hiding the screw...depending on your year/options you may not have one.

well if u look in my thread with pics of my car ull know i took my a pillar off considering i rewrapped my whole head liner and their isnt a single airbag in that pillar......seriously think about what would happen with that tweeter mount if an airbag was in their and went off

The new guy comes out with the knowledge! Most impressive!

Im pretty sure you are correct. If you take the pillar off you can see the VERY edge of the airbag module up by the roof liner. Would the a-piller cover come off in a deployment? It is DEFINATELY possible. However, upon thinking about this further, I doubt it would come off with enough force or in such a way that would injure you.

So by all means..... RICE IT UP!! Tee hee hee!! I kid I kid!

Re: Any CTS A-Pillar Gauge Pods out there?

haha I guess we can call me the new guy haha but actually if the airbag was to shoot that thing off it would be enoiugh force but what a shame it is that the clips they use on the A pillars are a powerforce clip meaning that the clip will give enough room for the a pillar to move but not come off no matter how much force their is this is also why those little airbag symbols are their to remove those panels you have to pop that little symbol off and remove the phillips head screw behind it please dont just try and pull it out itll snap the clip

Re: Any CTS A-Pillar Gauge Pods out there?

Though the back sail panels have the air bag clips and screws in them. However, the srews are in plastic (which ALWAYS break) instead of metal clips like up front, and these most definately DO have airbags behind them and do break away in a deployment. Thats part of the reason the sail panels ALWAYS break, because they are designed to break away easily.

This is true those back panels are a pos. I will admit that both of my panels back their are brand new due to the fact that I broke them taking them out
