    Boy did I luck out.

I just wanted to share this...

I ran through a puddle the other day and my check engine light came on (03 cts) coincedence???? Maybe. Anyway, I took my car to the dealership the next day, and found out that it was my thermostat.

I'm not sure how many of you have had this happen, but I was told they had to go in through the top half of my engine. I decided to have the 60K mile maint done, and my stability system needed serviced as well.

My bill came to $1500 in parts and labor for the thermo. $500 for the maint, and $250 for the stability fix. Grand total of $2250 My car has NO warranty on it...

I walked out paying $253.32. I must say, it pays having friends at dealerships. There are good people out there!

So how was your freind able to get the bill down to 250 from 2250. Did he put it in as warranty work? Dealer service departments have to operate at a profit. Someone has to pay P&L.

Beats me. Something about goodwill on the statement????

    They're a huge dealership...I'm sure they didn't suffer anything.
