How long does it take for battery to drain?

Remove this ad
Long story short, i was out last night and had my car turned off for like an hour, during which i had the heater and the radio playing. I received the message "SAVE BATTERY" (or something like that) on the navi and my car wouldnt start. I thought it would take much longer than one hour for the battery to drain. Is this within the norm?

You can't go past 45 minutes safely.

an hour with the heat on, very normal that your battery's dead. When you say heat, you say: lot of juice! Same thing for a/c.

Re: How long does it take for battery to drain?

I had my rotors and pads done on my car, and the mechanic left the key in the car on but not cranked.

It took them an hour or so to do the the rotors which left my battery dead. They had to jump start it to get it going and its fine afetr tha(driving around charging it)

Overall Cadillacs battery are pretty weak or the car just uses to much battery juice...

Or maybe my two 12" subs took the power? idk

Were the head lights on as well? that could add to the draining.

ILLMATIK, why dont you just put your key in the "accessories" position instead of "on"?

Mine won't go past like 10 minutes now without goning dead. I think I need a new batt. Volts read 14 something and the car starts fine when i don't run just the battery. Just won't last long. Not holding a good charge maybe?
