    Rear Left Door Ajar

I get this message when I put the car in drive. (REAR LEFT DOOR AJAR) I assume its a sensor because when i hit clear it goes away.

Does anybody know where the sensor is?

I guess I could just live with it but prefer to get it fixed

Yeah and I always that a jar is what you kept mayonaise in.

It should read door is a door.

Seriously, if the door is not shut properly then that is your problem.

If it is then there is a momentary switch in the door jam, iirc.

Dennis--send a PM to EWill3rd. He can tell you where the sensor is. Good luck.

    Re: Rear Left Door Ajar

The "door ajar" and "door open" switches are integrated into the lock actuator which is part of the door lock assembly.
You could have a bad switch or a wiring issue that is making the computer think the door is open.
The door will have to come apart for diagnosis and testing, also a scan tool might be required to pinpoint which switch is acting up.
