37K miles on '03 CTS and I've gone through 2 rear ends already. GETTING WORRIED!

At about 30K I noticed a humming noise around a steady 40mph. I suggested a rear diff. problem, but the dealer laughed it off since "They've had no rear-end problems with the CTS". Upon inspection they found the rear diff. was full of metal. (You got a rear end problem NOW, don't you?) They replaced it, and thankfully the $1500+ job was warrantied. Well, not even 7000 miles later, I was driving and suddenly heard a grinding noise (as if I was driving with the parking brake on or something). Moments later the grinding stopped and the humming "gear noise" returned. The dealer verified it was the same porblem, and was very shocked it happened again. "You're kidding me!" was his exact words. You can inagine how worried I am that this problem will continue to repeat AFTER my warranty is up.

My question: What could cause my differential to go out so soon. Two rear-ends in under 40K???? What a joke!!! I would appreciate any ideas and input on this.

I have a '04 with less than 4000 kms on it, gone through 1 rear differential already. The pinion gears seized up, so the rear diff was basically non existent. When I turned, the inner wheel hopped.

i had a porsche that went through 3 transmissions in under 5K miles...dealer bought it back under the lemon law.
Sounds like you need to familiarize yourself with your state's lemon law, and use it!! Get the district Cad rep involved and ask for a new car.

i'm going to the dealership right now. I already called cadillac to make sure that it will be taken care of this time instead of "cannot duplicate the problem"

edit: Dealer told me that they can't go on a test drive with me today and i can't go to the dealership during weekdays.

Strange thing to be happening but yes you need your car replaced if the same problem is happening again no questions asked. this is not indicative of the model but some one put something together wrong is all.
