I prefer molded dash kits to the ones that are flat. There are also a couple of companies that apply wood or carbon fiber finishes to you own stock parts. If I were going to do something with my dash, if no molded kits were available i would go with the people that coat the stock parts.

I agree. The flat kits look really tacky, they just don't fit properly.

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

thanks 4 the pics...the kit i have even has parts for the doors, sunroof controls, and center consol around the cupholders and under the armrest.
that wood grain just seems like a lot. kinda just jumps out at you...are these things hard to take off if i put it on and dont like it?

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

I have the wood dash kit that was installed with the VTXi package. I Love it. It is a little "flat" looking, but def. way better then the plain plastic look.

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

i bought one of the sherwood zebrano dash kits to match the factory wood on my steering wheel & door panels, mostly wanted it to cover up some wear & tear on the interior in a few spots, i am very happy with the fit & quality. i didn't apply all the pieces, didn't do the center part around the dic & climate controls, thought that was a bit too much woodgrain.

i just realized i don't have dick for pics of my interior after doing the woodgrain, may actually go take some pics at lunch time if I have a chance & will post.

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

My car came with the woodgrain on it which looks better than the plastic Cadi finish... I thought the woodgrain was too busy so I ordered the Aluminim clear coat kit. It took hours to remove a small section to I decided to do only 1/2 and now I'm glad I did. I get a lot of compliments on the way the dash looks.

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

Yea i am not a big fan myself. I have seen quite a few when i was looking at CTS's at the auction house.

Also after market wheels, dash kits, etc.. will hurt resale value. Now if you plan on keeping the car forever (i.e. drive it into the ground) then go for it.

I like the way that aluminum looks, where did you get the parts? Also, were there more parts to it or just what's shown? I noticed you still had some wood on the dash.

Re: thoughts on woodgrain dash/doors/center consol kits

I think the wood kits look ok, but a little to much for me. I actually thought I wanted to do something with my dash so I ordered a black chrome kit and when I got it I held a few pieces up and decided against it. Decided I like the way it is better. I think you are fine either way, just a matter of what you like.
