Did search without success...

What are your experiences of running without Cats or resonators???

My goal is a louder exhaust and gain 5 hp.

Pros and Cons???

Thanx

no cats? No exhaust?

Not for anything but these v6 are not the greatest sounding engines unmuffled at anything below 6k rpm. 5hp. Only if the computer is not barking due to the 2nd o2 sensor reading being completly off.

pointless and definetly ricer-ish.

Re: Open Exhaust??? Thinking of going No Cats, No Resonator only Muffler.....Did Sear

well the cat serves as a resonator.

Makes the lower sounding drone of the v6 go higher in pitch and add that tinny sound to it. Ick! I think I recall a resonator down there.

For power, dump the v6 and shoe horn the v8 in there. Call it a day.

5hp. That is is within any dyno's + - deviation and will definetly not feel it. Perhaps on the "butt dyno"

Your car is going to sound like a POS, just calling it now before you go ahead and do it. Like everyone else has said, it's completely pointless and will absolutely ruin the 'class' of a Cadillac.

Dont do it unless you want your engine to blow up.

Why do you want your CTS so loud? If you want a rumble, that is not the way....get an X-pipe or resonator

The federal fine for removing a CAT or fudging the o2 sensors is $2500.
