I bought the kit on eBay just before Wednesday midnight. I got the kit about 36 hours later all the way from California to Toronto Canada!
That is definitely the fastest shipping if had so far on eBay since I've been a member in Jan 2004.
Here are my comments about this kit...
1) Connectors / plugs /sockets and wire were very high quality. The plugs had this sort of special rubber seal which looked like a triple gasket. Everything clicked together with a real tight fit. Overall, the quality was better than all the OEM stuff on the car.
2) The ballasts were heavy, solid and very compact. They had 3 tapped holes each for mounting. They were unlabeled with only a patent number on them.
3) The bulbs were clean and well packaged with solid connectors (all with the special rubber seal
4) Instructions were kind of funny but thorough
5) Packaging - Everything was properly packed with boxes inside boxes and the box was much smaller than it looked in the pictures
6) Performance - I got the 5000K kit (Just a little higher than OEM). At first I thought that I got the wrong bulbs because everything looked so purple / blue compared to what I thought. When I looked at the bulb directly, it looked very white, but at an angle, it looked purple / blue because of the projector.
It's exactly what I was looking for in terms of color. All the reflective paint on the road glows as if a black light was shining on it. Near the cutoff, you can see even more color.
7) Installation - I probably broke the rules here but I did not have to drill any holes. The kit was so small that I mounted the hole thing in the light housing. The ballast only gets slightly warm compared to the old halogen bulbs so I don't see any concern in terms of overheating / condensation. |

I did have to use the extra wire supplied to flip the polarity but it only took a minute. |

I bought a newer digital kit with slim ballast. There's enough room for 2 kits easily.
It went in very neatly with out having to drill holes. I could remove the whole kit and you'd never know anything was ever there.
The hid kit, including ballasts produces far less heat than halogen, so I'm not worried about the housing getting too hot. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
