Re: Mechanic Opinions Welcome

You are correct Tommy on the .032 gapping. My car has 121000 miles on it and I was wondering if I should change out the (4) O2 sensors the same time I change to new sparkplugs? Will really old O2 sensors foul up the new spark plugs?

the short answer is Yes, and yes.

O2 sensors tell how much more fuel to add to the mixture. if they've gone bad, you'll surely be running rich (rich is safer than lean), which means more unspent fuel on the spark plugs. this can drastically decrease their life.

Re: Mechanic Opinions Welcome

hey, theres nothing to it, just grab one of the little round things that look like a keychain w/ a picture of a spark plug on it from advance autoparts for like 97 cents. if you gap them too much or too little, its not like a bomb is gonna go off, you'll just have a miss b/c most likely you wont miss gap them all. have fun.
