Extended Warranty Quote

OK..so my wife's 2005 CTS is coming to the end of the original warranty period in June. I want the genuine Cadillac extended warranty with 0 deductible. So I have two quotes:

1. Young Cadillac in Escondido California ( where we bought the car from: 4 years and 50K miles - they want $2925.

2. I went on the internet and got this other quote: 4 years, 40k miles for $1120 from Subday Cadillac in Glouchester, Mass.

Wow---what a difference. Both claim to be genuine Cadillac extended warranties and I know the difference in cost can vary greatly but this is unreal.

Any thoughts ? and has anyone on this board bought an extended warranty from Subday Cadillac ?

just make sure you're comparing apples to apples

- Are they both GMPP?
- Major, Value, or Basic guard?
- Deductible $0, $50, $100, $200
- Years/Mileage

I know when I was buying my car and the dealer offered the extended warranty, I told him I didn't think I was interested. Then he offered me the "Employee Price" that was a few hundred bucks lower than the standard. I don't know what kind of deals they can make on the warranties but I saw the book he was using and their are several different tiers of pricing when you look at all the options.

Use preferred vendors, guys. You will save about 40% of retail on the GMPP. I avoid aftermarket warrs because of all the bankruptcies that we hear about with those companies.

Do a search here and on the Corvette forum. I paid about $830 for 4 years and another 40k miles.
GMPP for sure.
