This is going to sound dumb....
Ok... i want to try the xm disable technique to get my ipod to work with my radio. My question is... if im not a subscriber to xm, how do i know i have xm other than looking at the back of my radio. I have never seen an xm source when i mess around with my radio.
I have an 05... i know this is dumb

If the XM menu's don't show up when you hit the band button on the head unit, you likely don't have XM. Even if you don't subscribe, you'll be able to tune to channel 1 for the XM Preview, which tells you how to activate it among other things.
Also, you can look under the spare tire cover for your RPO build sheet. It should have a bunch of 3 letter codes. Look for U2K. If you have it, you've got XM, if not, the car wasn't ordered with it and you'll need to find another way.
