    Transparent protection film

Does anyone have any use for the "invisible bra" ? My used CTS came with a transparent film covering about a third of its nose. My first thought was that when I get it detailed for the first time this spring, I get that stuff taken off of there, because you can see the line going across the hood, but wanted some input on the value of the stuff. I don't know the manufacturer or thickness of this particular film, and it is not readily noticeable. I don't put in a lot of highway miles, so its effectiveness in protecting the paint from chipping is probably lost on me. Thoughts?

3M has the most popular one around but there are quite a bit of knock offs
that are not the same. Check out eBay and you can find all sorts of stuff.
    The 3M website is here:

I checked into the 3M one with a professional installer about 40 miles away.
My CTS would cost about $300 for the hood, bumper, and mirror housings.
I took a pass but I know other that have taken it and love the fact they
have no stone chips. I understand you can take the stuff off and it
looks like brand new under the film.

I have the 3-M stuff on mine. Love it. 30,000 miles... not ONE chip in it.

I'm curious if you can do something like this on the headlights to avoid the yellowing from the sun breaking down the surface.

Mine has it on the headlights, too.
