Try to clean any grease type lubricants off and use a silicone based spray. Silicone is supposed to NOT thicken up in the cold.

I have an 07. Same problem. I keep a bungee cord in my car at all time to hold the door closed when it won't latch. Looking forward to someone who KNOWS the solution to this dilemma.

Check the latch and make sure the little nylon doo-dad (technical term) has not dropped into the latched position. If it has, just push it back up, out of the way. For some reason, this occurs only in cold weather. I had the same problem, and after slamming the door a dozen times, applying "lub" and "greese", I found the real cause of the problem. I'll send pictures if necessary.

Thanks for the tip. I looked real quick this afternoon (it's snowing and 15 degrees) and couldn't identify the doo-dad you referred to. If you have a photo to share that would be appreciated!

Unable to attach photos for technical reasons, so I will attempt to describe what to look for. Open the door, look at the latch. If it appears to be blocked by a black nylon lever, that's what's keeping the door from latching. To fix this, pull the door handle and rotate the black nylon piece upward until it latches in place. Slam door shut, it should stay shut. How or why this black latch falls down, I don't know, but it seems to only happen in cold weather.
