my question: Has anyone came across a roots style blower/supercharger for the v6's??
the reason i as is because i used to own a v6 import and there was a company that made roots style superchergers that would bold up to the lower intake with an adapter. as simple as it seems i think the hard part would be crackin the computer to be able to tune the damn thing.
i will try find the site where i read about this. |

3.6 computer has been cracked. It is tunable through HP tuners. I have a custom tune on mine done by Big3 that added 18hp and 19ftlbs
I think a roots SC would not work because there is not enough room under the hood.
Best bet is going to be a regular style SC. I am actually planning on getting one for my 3.6 eventually. |

Probably looking in about the 5k range. If youre anywhere near Milwaukee I know Big3 could do one.
Or, you can also order a kit from australia which should work. |

Those are the aussie kits. Now, since the ECM has been hacked since those appeared I am betting you wouldnt need to piggyback unit.
Those are some nice numbers out of the engine for stock internals.
Basically, I will likely put an SC on my CTS in the next year or two. I want to have some money saved up in case something bad happens. It would also be a good idea to put on an anti wheel hop kit and diff bracing like the V guys do.....
I plan on going with intercooled at 10psi. I am hoping to get up to 350rwhp which would be faster than a stock V.
I initially planned on getting a new V but I dont want the extra weight and bigger sized car. |

Yes. The aussies have already been doing this and have pushed 11psi on stock internals. |

No way a roots style blower is going to work unless you get a different hood. I also dont see how it would work on a 3.6..... |

but a roots is totally not worth it on our cars.
you would have to remove the entire intake, and lose the variable intake fun that comes with the car. that and roots style blowers ARE pretty big.
in all honesty for the 3.6 I would go with a centrifugal blower, it could be mounted where the giant air cleaner is now without too much trouble.
even better would be a turbo. the 3.6 is decently torquey off the line, I never have problems smoking my tires when I want to, A little bit of turbo lag will help the car get moving and then the power kicks in. its a lot more gentle on the trans and the rear as well.
or you could go the "cheap" route and do nitrous. we have oil cooled pistons so the engine can take a lot of heat in the combustion chamber. |

What about headers? Will you need them to run a supercharger.. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
