3.6 superchargers

nitrous is a good beginner "bang for you buck" kind of mod.

before buying try to find locations near you that will do refills, which can get annoying. not to say that you will run through a ten pound bottle of nitrous very fast, but you will want to know where to get more.

lets see, our pistons are oil cooled on the bottom, good design, strong alloy and even the cylinder walls have a pressed in lining. yeah.. pretty good engine there.

all options currently are custom applications. you would have to have a shop make it for you, there are no kits on the market specifically for the cts.

as far as headers.. no you don't need them right off. the stock headers are actually designed pretty well. afterthat we simply do not have enough information to give good advice on what affect aftermarket headers would have due to lack of many supercharged LY7 engines out there.

Wouldnt a turbo setup be more costly and harder to fit in the engine bay?

it really depends.
centrifugal supercharges are expensive because of their gearing (like a mini transmission), and you have route a belt to drive it and a place to mount it.

with a turbo you can mount them under the engine, route the air intake to them and ouput from them. more piping but might be easier to fit.

kind of a toss up.
