Re: Videos of me bracket racing in the CTS

What is the STS times stock ?
I would say you and Nick would be running Neck and Neck if your STS is putting up those times.

LMAO!! What were you banned for? These new rules have me scared as I will likely get myself banned a couple of times. LOL!

zero to 60 I will crush the STS. In the quarter things would be pretty close.

The ETC I would obviously lose to which I already knew. Zero to 60 I would be right with the ETC. However, there is a hole in your story. You used to claim your best in the ETC was 14.4......

Any recolection of what the weather conditions were when you put up these times?

Re: Videos of me bracket racing in the CTS

no it was pretty close after winter though i must admit it wasnt burning hot but it wasnt cool either
the vids of me with the imp and the vette though was on a 94 deg day i remember that cuz it was hot as hell i wanted to keep the a.c off for hp but needed those windows open

0-60 the cars suck cuz again its fwd i only have a launch advantage if we raced up a hill, in the rain lol

as for the 1/4 the ETC got quicker when i put her on a diet (ie i removed the sub box and put it in the STS but for the STS times the subs were NOT in) and i also pulled the rear seat (had to, to get the subs out and just figured id run her before i put it back in)

Ah good deal!

One day I will be able to beat your ETC. I think on the same track on the same day right now we would be pretty close. I am biased though! LOL!

Both times I have ran at the track was in august. Hot, humid and stormy. A lot of people at the track said they were runnin about .5 to .8 higher than usual due to bad weather conditions. Tracks near here open in early may so I should be able to get ideal conditions then.

as I said before I am hopin for 14.5 but you know what they say about hopin! LOL!

Jason, how much of an effect do you think wheel weight has? I am betting my current 17s weigh about 28 to 30lbs. I am looking at getting some 18s off tire rack that are 23lbs. I will also have better tires since I got rid of the all seasons....

Re: Videos of me bracket racing in the CTS

my STS has 17s as well as a matter of fact they are the same 17s used on 03 sport CTSs while my ETCs running stock 16s
weight isnt everything with the wheels while less weight obviously helps the diameter plays alot too.
imho the bigger the wheel the greater the power loss and more strain on the drive train, just remember the DONK drag vid when he snapped the axle in half...
however the performance gains in handling are OBVIOUS

shockingly ive found out btw that non studded snow tires get AWESOME traction at the track (have a spare pair of rims with winter tires and i tried them lol)

LOL my blizzaks cost to much to do that!

I dont think a larger diameter will really matter if the weight is less than stock. I hope....

You could always have me drive, Nick. I weigh like 1/2 what you do.

No, 5x4.5 is actually 5x114.3...
The CTS is designed to use 5x115, but alot do use 5x114.3
