Its me, your favorite (by default) local mad scientist.
I have pulled myself away from messing with tritium gas at fermi lab to try to get a new project together since we have gone through such a horrible slow down in new ideas lately. That and new 08 is really stealing the interest out of this place.
anywho...
lets say I have sourced an overseas maker of carbon fiber goods. they specialize in car parts and bike parts and have a large facility for manufacture and shipping.
lets continue to go on that I have already gotten price quotes for certain items just to get a feel for them. So far I have asked about just recreating our stock hoods in lovely carbon fiber, thats stock no modifications, to make the mold is about 450 and then each hood is roughly 300-400 dollars. IMMEDIATELY tac on a couple hundred for shipping.
and we need to order ten pieces at a time.
Now.. they do a lot of things and can make a lot of parts.
(flyflip this is where you come in)
I am very sure they can also make a carbon fiber clone of the cts-v front end.
yeah, I will attach pictures they sent me of previous work, which includes the front bumper of a M3 e46 bmw that they reproduced.
so, can we get ten orders together once we work out a price? I am pretty sure these would be lighter than normal, or at least tougher, so maybe the cts-v guys would be interested.
so should I bother to keep working on this?
-Kael

one: its much easier to make a mold of something we have
two: takes a long time and effort and money to make a brand new part
three: why would we make a new product that only the V guys can use?
I was thinking cloning the V front end would be best since then the cts guys that want a V front can get one and the V guys can get a new front if they need it. |
