I always park waaaaaay out in the parking lot and as close to the curb as possible. It atleast eliminates the possibility of door dings on one side and leaves more room an the other.

Guys,
Repeat after me "It's just a car". It can replaced with another one just like it. There are hundreds if not thousands just like it. And just because you put your bling bling wheels on it doesn't make it any more rarer (is that a word?) than the next one. The rims can be bought again. Like Bill Cosby said about his pain in the ass son "I can make another one just like you so go ahead and run that bicycle into that wall".

Your not alone in this, I tend to baby my CTS more than the other cars I drove in the past. …….
Before, I used to search the most closest park near the entrance, now I try to find the most empty space in the lot to park my car as faaaaaar as possible from the entrance.
Now, I do care whose parked beside me in the lot and I tend to escape parks just to try to park my CTS near more expensive car than mine so I know that they will care more on there car than my self so I know I will find some dent on my doors..

I'm not concern that my CTS might get stolen cuz I live in a safe area. It's so safe that you can roll down your windows and leave the key in the ignition while the car is running, go in store come back and be sure you'll find it as it is. In fact I remember once I was in a hurry so I blocked on someone's car and left my key in the ignition and went to do some stuff, came back I find that the guy moved my car and get his out then parked mine in his space and he was gentlemen enough that he cranked the windows down cuz it was a hot day (it happened before I get CTS) … NOT A JOK
