Re: ok guys I want a corvette or a V soo......

There are a lot of good deals out there Brent. Are you looking to buy from a dealership only? You can get good deals from private sellers. 04 Z's I have seen for around 35-39k. And private sellers I have seen them lower.

I don't know what it is about the RFZ but its just one of the coolest looking ones out there.
that thing is sick

Honestly I would be very happy with a white targa top c5 with black ccw's wheels and then just cam it and get long tubes and seriously i would be a happy happy camper

Re: ok guys I want a corvette or a V soo......

Man oh man that's a Beauty!!! I've never been too big of a fan of white cars, but that one looks sharp!! Very clean ride!:cool2:

just so you guys know: it's an '07 z06 ls7....
You don't have to specify that it has an LS7. If it's an 07 Z06, then anyone who knows anything about that car knows what engine is under the hood.

...impossible to make a v touch it.
No, not impossible. Albeit the LS7 is a great powerplant and the C6 Z06 is very fast, it's not untouchable. If I can take a 7 year old LS1 in an F-body and add heads, cam, exhaust & a tune, and make it put down close to the same h/p to the rear wheels as a C6 Z, someone with the funds could build either of the LSx engines in the Vs to put down higher numbers than the C6 Z. Now whether or not the rear could handle it is another story, but someone who was interested in building a V up that much could probably find a way to make it happen. To say that it's "impossible to touch" is a little far fetched. Unrealistic? Probably. Impossible? No.

everyone and there brother DON'T have an '07 z06 though. let us know the next time you see one in traffic. (not just an '07 vette, there are a lot of those, but an '07 z06.) very "unique" car.
Why do you keep bringing up your dads Z06 anyways!?!?!?!?! He's looking for a low mileage Vette or V, and a C6 Z06 is a tad more pricey!

Re: ok guys I want a corvette or a V soo......

My 2 cents...

1. I love my V, and I'm able to look past the downsides. The tranny clunks like a motherfvcker. It's not even about how you drive it. I've gotten used to my car that I can drive it really smoothly. But there are lots of times the car will just clunk when I push the clutch pedal in. Or, once the clutch pedal is in, and I shift, it clunks before I even release the clutch. That's got nothing to do with my driving, it's just how the car is. If you're using it as a daily driver, you might get tired of this. I don't know how the C5 is, but I've heard the tranny is nice and smooth.

2. Do you intend on blowing most people off the streets? The V is really hard to launch. If you like to blow people away at the lights, the C5 is probably a better bet.

All that said, if I had to do it all again, I still would have picked my V. I just love it that much.

Speaking of the LS3, my dad's looking at one ofthose :D

Brent:

Another thing to consider based on your budget is to possibly keep in mind a 2007 C6 with the LS2

I'm assuming that your looking for a two door door coupe. Depending on mileage and trim level; they can be had in the low $30k's.

Increase the trim level to a 3LT or 4LT package, Z51 or magnetic ride and some other RPO options and you'll pay a bit more depending on mileage.

A huge benefit of purchasing an 07 C6 in even the minimum base trim level is that you'll still get the LS2 engine with 400HP and 400 foot pounds of torque with no rear differential issues to be concerned about and the sky is the limit with regard to performance modifications down the road.

Once again, if you don't need "back seats"; a C6 makes for an excellent daily and reliable driver and most of all.......it comes with GM's 5 Year/100,000 miles power train warranty and you'll never have a Chevrolet Corvette dealer question the validity of your warranty for installing LT headers or a CAI.:shhh:

Re: ok guys I want a corvette or a V soo......

My brother has a 03 ZO6 Vette and it's a animal. If your looking for all out speed and tons of looks, then the Vette is the way to go. Although, the CTS-V would be a better everyday car with plenty of power on tap.

It's a toss up.....I would go V just because my LITTLE brother has the vette already and that wouldn't be right...Big brother copying little brother:tisk:

Re: ok guys I want a corvette or a V soo......

oh and you're forgetting that what you did to your 7 year old engine has also been done to this ls7 with the addition of a supercharger, so while you may put down numbers close to a stock z06, it's nothing compared to this one. sorry guys.
