PJ did this to his, and it seemed to work. I've still got mine in the garage, waiting for me to cut the cross bar, and weld a new one that's about 1" lower.
The 04 CTS-V cross bar won't even clear the V6 motors, since we have overhead cams that make it taller overall, than the V8.
In mid '05 GM started molding in a slot to the underside of the hood (and the hood liner) to clear this, even if it wasn't ordered. You could upgrade to a newer hood, but this would be a very expensive way to fit a strut tie-brace. |

My very late 04 has the slot for the STB. I should be watching e-bay closer so I can buy one..... |

My CTS has an indent in the hood liner for the brace. It's the exact same hoodliner as the V's... I'm hoping that means it will work. |

I bought it off a member here. It's used, so I don't know if there'll be anything on it. |

It's a great mod for the cost, as long as you have the hood indent.
Combine the STB with a set of V-sways and it really tightens up the handling nicely! |

It sits across the rear of the engine bay, but stiffens up the front end really well. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
