navi unit different part #'s

How you guys doing im on ebay bidding on a dvd/navi unit. I wanted to know what would be needed to depict the diffrence between them. i dont want to bid on something , and it comes out to be the old school dvd/navi with 6 disc's and what not.

How can i tell the difference between the old school navi/dvd ,and the newer ones? Can i tell by the photos?? Any help would help me out alot got a day left before bid ends, and really want 1 but the right 1. Thanks

what do you mean the "old school" nav? all the stock navs have have the 6 disc change.

Hi 03,The front of the nav.uper left says DVD.Also use search feature to learn more about Nav. Tom

Thanks alot tom Im on my friends sidekick at work , so didnt want to do a hardcore search , on that small Pos, but thanks again.

Rblimas , I belive the older dvd/navi units had to get 6 cd'sto upload the whole navi part instead of 1 disc

oh yeah i forgot all about the CD based nav

If you have an early build 03 you have a grey dash that will match the early grey CD based nav that had 6 map cd's. Later 03's have a black dash that match the black DVD based NAV. I am pretty sure this is correct.

If I am looking at the right one on ebay, it is a grey based cd one, based on the "disc" instead of "dvd" in the top left. Wouldn't be worth it if you had a black dash. I just bought a black 2005 one from that same company.
