hah i'll cut 2 the chase. i have a light platinum cts & want to do tints.
If i can, i'd want 20% all around, however in NJ its illegal to have any tints on the front 3 windows (windshield, front driver side & front passenger side). So I want to know what i should do!
can someone tell me how can i do all around tints and not get ticketed? (feel free to PM if u dont want to post. . .)
should i tint all around anyway & pray i dont get ticketed?
should i not touch the front windows? but wouldnt this look like ass?
any other suggestions/advice/anything constructive??????????
*edit**
a bit more info that u may/may not want to take into consideration: i also just spent a crap load on a new radar detector . . . said tints may affect its performance?

I figure if I give them a reason to pull me over, they will get me for my tails as well. I just do not think our cars would look good with only the rear 3 tinted. |

Like Tennessee for instance . We aint got no laws like that. Just none on the front windshield. Well, as far down as the blue sun shade on the front windshield anyway. Quote:

its not like your committing a felony either, if you got 150-200 bucks to throw around do it, and be the one to see what happens haha |

Damn, your right, you can have a note and be legal" well he read it wrong like I first did....I got out of it, now anytime I go there, which hasnt been awhile<knock on wood> he comes right up to me and asks what Im there for....show him the note, he signs off and its thrown out.....he says he will never forget the lesson I showed him.....Funny thing is he read it wrong
Man up 20 looks sick all around and you will love it....just dont drink and drive, tint does give them a reason to pull you over and you dont want that!!! |

People always compliment the way the car looks with the tint. If you want I can post some pictures later tonite so you can see it. Just let me know. |

No fine. No point...I'll take my chances with the 20 dollar fine. | I'm with Snoop on that one - I'll take my chances. So far the odds are with me. I've had all my windows tinted since 11/03 and only once did I get a fix it ticket for my tinted fron windows. My wife's 01 Toyota SUV is also tinted and only once did we get a ticket for that which my former secretary's cop husband signed off for me. It depends on where you are and how the police feel about tint in general. I feel as if they don't really bother you unless you are in "certain" areas, or they pull you over for speeding and then they happen to notice your illegal tint. Whenever I get pulled over, I hit the auto button for both front windows immediately..
ADVICE - don't do the windshield. As far as radar, you're good. At least I have no problems with my passport X-50....Also, try to picture my cts below, with the front windows NOT tinted...just wouldn't look right...

I am thinking about going 20% all around on my CTS (even though Ohio does not allow more than 50% on front windows) and see if I can get away with it. I have the money. Since I have a silver CTS, I think it would look pretty sharp.
Snoop: You mean to tell me you have no front or rear plates on? Please tell me you are kidding! | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
