CD player will soon be acquainted with my backhand

Remove this ad
aright so my normal CDs that i make for the car consist of 18 or 19 songs, ... thats the max iTunes will allow to fit on one CD.

So a friend of mine suggested i don't use iTunes to burn & just write the files onto the CD.

I tried to play it in the car and i got NOTHING. It wouldnt play, wouldnt change songs, NOTHING -- the car acknowledge there was a CD present because it said CD 1 on the display, however nothing played, wouldnt let you change tracks, and raising volume had no effect.
I then wondered if something was wrong with the CD, however i tried it just now in the panasonic stereo system i have in my room & its working fine & its playing track 2 of the like 40 i put on the CD.

How can i get this CD to play in my cts!?

all help is appreciated.

you made an mp3 cd. the files are still compressed. your system at home knows how to decompress the mp3s before playing them. im guessing the cd player in the cts doesnt know how to read mp3 cds

nothing you can do unless u go aftermarket, this almost made me NOT get my car. OR you can always do the MP3 player mod, which is what im going to do.

You can fit a lot more then 40!!! I have a MP3 disc with every Metallica album/song on it. ALL my cars have had aftermarket radios installed by me that played MP3s. I have about 12 MP3 CDs with basically ALL my music on them. Because u can fit near 400 songs on a regular CD... This was ideal for me and eliminated the need for a CD changer. Who needs one with ~350 songs on one CD?

Like I said, I almost didnt buy this car for this reason. I love my music and I knew this would be a pain in the ass. Cant really go aftermarket radio cause the DIC... right?

I suggest the MP3 player mod... What else can you really do beside building a carputer? (seriously thinking about the carputer myself)

Like the author says @ http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/mp3player.html it is REALLY stupid on GMs part... This is simple to implement. Ide rather a one disc player that can read MP3 format then this POS 6 disc changer!
