I would have to see a picture of the rubber piece in question, but the C5's torque tube / driveshaft type thing has an individual piece like this that can be ordered from GM. The part number is even cast into the piece so if you can DIY you may be able to source the part.

Re: Drive Shaft..

[quote=wait4me6920;1250316]Keep a close eye on it - many owners, self included, have had differential problems. Symptoms most commonly are a moaning, rumbling or whining from the rear - often most noticeable at 30 - 50 mph under light or trailing throttle...

I had the rumbling at low speeds and coming to a stop. I thought it was the tires...turned out the pinion seals on the diff were loose and I had lost most of the diff fluid. They tightened the seals, put more fluid in, and the rumbling went away. Now...what damage will that cause in the future....

mine is a 05 with 62k miles and does that problem. But it vibrates only when I press slowly the gas for example at 70km/h and the car doesn't downshift.. if I stay steady it doesn't vibrate at all, if the car downshift, no problem at all.. but if you ask power and the transmission doesn't go down one gear, it shake.. should I worry?
