Finally getting serious about buying rims

Remove this ad
So I really want to get rid of these 16" factory rims and put something nice looking on.

These have struck me as nice, and I just wanted some opinions on them, maybe if they are even compatible.

http://wheelstudio.com/catalog/produ...8&t3=235-40r18

Better picture here:

I would be getting the 18" ones and getting some lowering springs (eibach) to go with them. The website says they are 18x8.5x115.73.40.sil So if I match them with 235/40/18 tires, there should be no problem with a lowering kit?

What do you guys think?

Re: Finally getting serious about buying rims

Honestly IMO,...those rims belong on a riced out honda civic, not a Cadillac

i hate to agree, but those might not look the best on the CTS. There are some great deals on ebay. You could probably get IMO nicer wheels for less on ebay. In the end though it doesn't matter what any of us thinks, you have to spend the cash and drive the car everyday. everyone's taste in wheels and styling is different. good luck with the wheels.

Re: Finally getting serious about buying rims

I actually thought that they looked similar to the sport rims on the 2007 cts. That is actually what I was going for. 9 spoke instead of 12, but close?

Re: Finally getting serious about buying rims

I've seen several wheels that look like that on the CTS but were chrome. If you're in the rust belt of the U.S. this would be a good choice. There are a lot of areas(holes) that could trap dirt and grime giving it some difficulty to clean.
I had a version similat to those.

Re: Finally getting serious about buying rims

So does anyone have any comments on compatibility? Am I understanding these sizes correctly?

Thanks for the pic, Robert. They look nice on the cts.

SEveral of us opted for 245x45x18" tires. 7.5-8" rims are a better width. I have 7.5 but wish I had 8" but they were not available for my style rim. Damn, Bob picked form over function!! Yeah, but close enough.

Those were chrome wheels in my pic. They rusted after one year in Ohio's winter.

Keep us up to date to what you pick. I discovered no matter what you pick, some time later you will see something you like better.

Re: Finally getting serious about buying rims

Yes, but at least I can ditch the stock 16"s. ANYTHING is better than those.

I was torn between and external upgrade and an internal upgrade. rims or nav? I picked rims. I will not get lost and don't plan on having a woman drive, so...

If you gonna go with Enkei, go with the Kapone's. . . They kinda go with the CTS...Hell, at one point Enkei was advertising the Kapones by showing them on a CTS...I like your choice tho! You will be O.K. with the Eibach kit

yea..... ALL the stock rims look like ass except the 18s i got, IMO

To tell u the truth, I think with any stock rims besides the Sports Appearance Pkg. ones (in my sig).... it really kills the car... i cant stand to look at other CTSs on the street with stock rims, it hurts my soul
