Question need to help a cts owner

Remove this ad
Whats going on ladies ,and gents. I was changing my oil when the next door neighbor came by, and told me he has a 04 cadillac cts 3.2. Didnt know they made 04 with the 3.2L? Anyhow he asked if i could look at his because its been driving rough for the past 3 weeks , so like a good neioghbor i checked it out . The car has 55,000+ miles on it. Looked around first everything looked good. So i decided to check his plugs. Took his plugs off to check them out , and the whole passanger side was filled with oil. Im talking about to the brim ,plug , and coil was filled with oil. I used some rags to soak up the oil. took out the plugs and checked them. Went to the drivers side , and no oil on ,or around the spark plugs , and coil packs.

Anybody knows what this means?? I told him maybe he broke a seal ,or what not. any info that i can throw to this guy would be helpful. He should be starting up on the forum i told him about it, so maybe he can add more detail. Thanks

Re: need to help a cts owner

Valve cover gasket needs to be tighted. (I am assuming the oil was on the outside of the plugs.)

Minor inconvenience.

Good luck.

Re: need to help a cts owner

thanks man. Yes the oil was only on the outside , and only in the spark plug coil ,area. so i should tell him to try and tighten his valve cover gasket. any more info to throw at him, or should he just leave it alone?.
