aright fellow cts-ers
i want to try a new mod... its nothing major, but i think it would b a nice touch.

my cousin's tsx has very very faint stock light accents around certain parts of the car, and it really looked appealing.
i think neons are ridiculous and overpowering. They illuminate too much and they make the car look nasty, imo.

i was wondering if there was a way to add some color to the interior of my car w/out using tacky neon strips.

for instance, there is a weak white/yellow light under the steering wheel/above the pedals and also one under the glovebox.

then theres a bulb at the bottom of each door. Is there a way to access that bulb WITHOUT taking apart the whole panel?

Theres the light in the back, by the rear windshield

also the two lights by the front windshield neighboring the sunroof knob.

so what i am asking is, can i change these bulbs to bulbs of another color? how much do they cost? where can i get them? how can i access the bulb to replace it?

thanks a lot in advance for all your help
and insightful posts

Hey Kid,

Yes

They have high intensity ( there goes that bad word again) LED's to replace most automotive stock bulbs. I've seen them advertized in various colors and intensities. Sorry I don't have the time to find them for you. A simple google should do it.

Each bulb has their own replacement process.

If I see them again, I'll let you know.

BTW:

The car looks filthy. Like going to the doctor without first changing your underwear

Re: interior lighting

Hey kid, you can buy different colored bulbs or you can wait until after Christmas and get good deals on lights

Re: interior lighting

I think it was about $150 - $200. My main bit of advice, do not do the license plate lights. Everybody that does them, has trouble. I've gone through 4 bulbs and they have all burned out. Nobody seems to be able to figure it out.

Re: interior lighting

I just did the full interior with LED's. Looks hot. Had trouble with the under dash lights, but solved that with a little elbow grease. I'll try and get pics soon, but the weather is so damn bad..

Speaking of license plate bulbs, my first set of 2 went out in a matter of a week. The second set has yet to fail me, and it's been months. May have something to do with non-polarized LED's? I don't know. I would do them, even if you run the risk of a fast set that burns out, it's still worth finding a good set.
