Ok, so I have been spending money like crazy, and I just bought an Alpine 400w Class D amp

and I got the line converter, which I guess does almost the same thing as Cleansweep.

it gets installed tomorrow, so before I do this, should I buy the cleansweep as well?

YES....buy the cleansweep....a line convertor is completely different and does nothing to help the sound...do a search for a thread titled.....nerd needs help from geeks....all the info you need is in there! After you read that, let me know what questions you have

as for equipment, I had the same amp....within a week(of continually trying to figure out why the amp kept shutting off) I took it back and got a JL monoblock....worth the extra money for the sound quality and no more amp cutting off....

I have the monoblock and JL 12W6v2 and of course the cleansweep.....its worth it to spend the extra money in my book....that way, in a week or two, Im not wishing I spent the extra money and got something better...I just buy the best

hey blackbelt13. Good to see you found the site full of a hell of a lot of help. I put a Fosgate 360 in mine and it works excellent. I used the new compact sub from pioneer. I had it all mounted up on the trunk lid.... the compact sub box is tiny. I still have my entire trunk space. The sub box hangs maybe an inch or two lower than the original. It shocks me to see all the stereos on here just totally taking up the trunk. My system fing rocks but maybe some need more sub. You can open my trunk and barely tell anything has changed. If anyone is running a 10" sub and has no trunk space then I suggest you think about the compact version if you like the trunk useable.

As for my trunk space....still fits everything I need it to.....Scuba equipment, golfclubs, girlfriends numerous bags when we go on a vacation And everyone has a different definition of "fing rocking".....and I have never heard a 10" sub that rocks especially a Pioneer.....

They are the company who made the compact sub as I remember. As for repeated attempts, I'm not sure what you mean? It was installed once. I wish I could've put two 12's in it but I didn't want to carve the car up or put a box in the trunk. I was going for a factory look but a decent sound. I achieved what I was after, save the XM being half the volume. The compact sub definitely pounds harder than the stock version...I have no doubt running a box with a Higher end sub would shake the car far more but the music I listen to works well with the combo I chose. I wasn't trying to win any awards...just have it sound decent. I'm quite happy with it.

I have three kids I raise by myself and need every inch of trunk space I can get. My girlfriend has three kids as well so we use the yukon xl for those trips.

OK so I am going to tell the detailed story. I originally wanted to replace the stock sub with a JL 10w3v3. because I thought it was a 10 back there, but it is an 8, annnd all they had was an 8w0 which I didnt want. so I went home, I already had the amp and wire and crap, but no sub. I made some calls to JL dealers and one guy had a 13w1v2 that he would give me for $159. so I said eh what they hell, and got it, and then they were going to make me a box the next day....which brings me to this morning(Saturday).
at 10:30 I went to the audio place, and they told me that the guys who make the box were out of town till Tuesday, well I wanted this done NOW so that wasnt working for me. so I went all around looking for someone who carried a box for ONE 13.5 inch sub. nobody had one, they all wanted to make one which would take them a week, or order it, which would take 3 days. NO. so I went back the the place I went to first, Finish Line in parma, to see if they had one. nope, but they DID have a box for two of them. after going to ONE more place, road quake in parmatown mall, I went back to Finish Line and bought that box and another 13w1v2. now I had NO idea how this was going to sound, but I am VERY VERY impressed at how loud and clear everything is. anyway, I cant remember what else to write, so I will upload pics now...and it was dark in the garage, so crappy pics
