2003 CTS Navigation CD based.. Need help?

OK guys.. been looking and looking and turning to the pros for help.. I just bought my caddy, but it's not dvd based... The navigation system is CD Based.. which really sucks.. but oh well.. still love the car. I don't have the CD nor do I know where to get one.. the good thing it's CD not dvd so it should cost less or maybe I can get a download from some bit torrent site or something? Please advise or any direction would be greatly appreciated. Also would like to know what I can do to convert my CD based Nav system to play dVD's..?? Please help with locating the CD I need ..

It takes about 10 CDs to power your NAV. One for each region. I couldn't live with that. I bought a NAV DVD from a member for $700. I've seen them go on eBay for $1000. The big screen DIC is awesome. The install is very easy DIY. No the CD unit can not be adapted to play DVD's.

Thanks Robert... I have considered changing my Nav Unit to DVD.. would love to watch movies... but for now, just want a simple NAV CD .. a burnt copy will work... I'm not looking to get copies of all the regions.. just Southwest and the Interstate CD will work... Thanks for the info..

I think you will find it very difficult to find specific NAV CDs. Come to think of it I've never seen NAV CDs on eBay! If you do I imagine they will be older copies and missing several years of road development.

At least one member tried the Zenrin CDs for Infiniti's (vs. their DVD map disks) and found them to work.

If you've got to buy all 11, you'll pay more than for a DVD Nav! A single disk still runs $120 (vs 190 for the single DVD).

I don't know many folks that have CD based Nav's. I did, but sold it to a fellow member years ago, along with the disks, when I upgraded to a DVD Nav.

I actually did find them out on Ebay for about 50.00 each... I'm looking for the texas region cd plust the interstate CD.. that's it.. don't need the whole set.. there was a forum discussion opened last year in october with some guy willing to make copies of the CD... but I tried emailing him and his email is no longer active.. got a return to sender error msg...?? any advice on who I can contact for a copy of such CD's???
