Seat Belt pressure for Tall driver

Remove this ad
Hi folks.
I'm 6ft tall with a 34" inseam. Not sure if my torso is longer than typical.

With the drivers seat all the way down, there is still quite a bit of pressure at the shoulder where the seat belt goes into the seat mounted tensioner/retractor.

Any tips for getting a bit of pressure relief from the seat belt?

John.

Re: Seat Belt pressure for Tall driver

I'm about 6' also but I don't notice any seatbelt pressure on my shoulder. Maybe the retractor spring is wound too tight in yours. I wish mine were wound a little tighter because they don't retract well when the weather is cold.

Re: Seat Belt pressure for Tall driver

Thanks.
I'll have to sit in the passenger seat and compare it to the drivers seat to see if there is a difference.

The salesman said that the seat mounted safety belt system was a real design breakthrough for GM. I'm not so sure I agree at this point.

I haven't gone on any long trips yet, so it's too early to really complain. Now that the snow is almost gone here in Toronto area, I'll be taking the CTS on some longer trips. TIme will tell.
