| Weird Experience - Had to Share
I was driving home the other night (Saturday) and saw my speedometer was not moving. So I was like cool, I'll keep her at 55,815 miles. Then I noticed that on my gear selector, the light that indicates the gear you are in is not lit. I'm like WTF....So I am trying to accelerate and the car will not go through the gears. It was like it was stuck in 3rd gear. So I hit the sport mode button...Nothing. The "S" light did not show on the dash...nothing. So I started to go through the DIC...and it reads, 0% transmission life; 0 mpg; 0 instant mpg; it was like everything on the DIC was zeroed out except for oil life (I had gotten an oil change the day before). So I'm home, thinking, damn I gotta get the car to the dealer on Monday, my warranty expired at 50K this is gonna cost me some $$. I'm switching off the car, the key will not come out. I can turn the engine off, but the key will not come out and stays in the on position. To make a long story short, I called up cadi roadside assisrtance, they came to my house, the tech dude inserted a screwdriver under the steering column (some key lock override feature is down there) the key comes out....Then, everything else is fine. I take the CTS for a spin around the block..sport mode back to normal, proper readout on my transmission, car goes thru the gears smoothly....Man that was a weird experience....
