Re: Favorite Lincolns?
The 1982 Lincoln Mark VI (6) 2-Door with Oval Opera Window Delete is my #1 favorite. Sadly it was such a poor seller in that configuation, that i've only seen 1 in my life, and there is no picture of such on the web. Only pic is in the 1983 Mark Brochure !
Is this really a subject on here? I dislike Linclon very much, partly cause I was laid-off from the dealer I was working at. The only current one I would own is the LS, Jag. everything, I think 280hp and rwd. Thats my only beef with GM, no rwd cars, it's sad. And I like the 60's Contintal with the suicde doors.
Nice dude, I wish I had a pic of the one I almost bought. I swear this car was built just for me, every inch of it screamed DopeStar. The car was an 83 Mark VI Coupe Signature Series. The car was BLACK with RED pinstripes and had the TURBINE WHEELS with the wheel locks. The interior was RED VELOUR with the digital speedo and all original with the exception of the CD changer mounted under the front seat. The car had 77,000 miles on it and drove like it was brandy ****in' new. I'm unsure which engine those had, I know it wasn't the 460.... 5.0 maybe? 400? Unsure.... I test drove the thing and it was love, love, LOVE! I had to have it. I was 17 at the time and wanted it BAD. It was going for $3,500 at a local used car lot like 3 minutes from my house. I used to pass it every day going to school and daydream about that car while I was driving my blue Mark VII which at the time was on it's last legs. (Literally last legs, half the suspension didn't work) I wanted to trade my VII for this VI, the guy at the car lot was going to give me $800-$1,000 credit on my VII towards the VI all I had to do was throw in $2,500 and it would have been mine. SADLY being 17 I couldn't buy a car from a lot without my dad and he wasn't going to let me do it because with the experience we had with my VII he didn't trust another Lincoln and at the time was hung up on me getting rid of it and buying something "practical." (Which is how my '99 Malibu came about) The car is gone now, I don't know what happened to it, he might have sold it or auctioned it off because he said he took it to auctions every weekend (Prolly to scare me into buying faster) and it just kept coming back. No one touched it for the longest time, it was always in that lot and just one day gone. I refer to that car as the one that got away..... I would have loved that car....
Wow Black exterior with red velour! How ostentatious!! (I mean that in the good way) And it had the Digital dash, which was a BIG improvement over the standard guages. Did it have the trip computer too?
It has the Throttle Body Injected 302, 130hp and 240lb/ft of torque. This thing is slower than a 307 Brougham in bad tune, but atleast its Fuel Injected
But personally, I think your Brougham is a better car. It looks better, more proportioned. Ah don't worry, I'm sure you will find another nice Mark series, maybe even a Mark IV or V with a 460!
Thanks for all the pictures guys!
Always a beautiful car. I would take
any Town Car.
However, I was not fond of the
I am loving the 2003 Town Car Cartier L,
these days. RWD, and you can fit a whole
bunch of bodies in the 20.6 cu. ft. trunk
Mostly used as Limos around here; and, they are
easily the most popular vehicle in that regard.
