    91-93 Deville vs. 91 Seville/Eldorado

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I know the 1991-1993 4.9L Devilles/FWD Fleetwoods can haul some serious ass but does a 1991 Eldorado/Seville being smaller than a Deville/Fleetwood do it even moreso? Or in other words, what is the weight differance?

Not sure, but from what I've heard the Deville does 0-60 in the low 8's. I'd estimate mine to be pretty close to that as well. Does the Eldorado have the 4.9 in it?

The Deville is the lighter car, but not by much. The difference is about 100lbs between a Deville and a Seville.

However, the Seville/Eldo has a higher final drive ratio (2.97:1 vs 2.73:1), so it's about a half second faster 0-60. The touring model's is even higher (3.33:1) so it can be up to and including one second faster 0-60.

But if you change the FDR of the Deville, it will be just as fast if not faster. Changing to 3.06:1 on a 4T60-E costs about 50 bucks+labor.

    What makes the Seville heavier?

    Re: 91-93 Deville vs. 91 Seville/Eldorado

i believe the 92+ sevilles were heaver than the sdv, but i think the 91 is about the same if not slightly less, my 92 sdv will pull a little harder off the line than my 93 seville, but once you cross about 30, the seville will walk away, and both of them hammer down at 80 the seville will put a sizable gap.

The one to play with is the 91STS...I would love to drive one of those

    Re: 91-93 Deville vs. 91 Seville/Eldorado

In '91 the STS weighed in at 3550lbs. The Deville was 3459lbs

After the '92 re-design, the STS weighed 3721lbs. The Deville: 3459lbs.

If both engines produced max power, the STS would definitely have the 0-60 advantage, but during a highway cruise (80-100) the Deville should have the advantage. The higher FDR of the Seville/STS trades top-end acceleration for low end. You also get lower gas mileage with a higher FDR.
