I don't like the slit headlights and the ridiculously huge wheels and razor thin tires, but the overall shape is awesome. T'would be awesome in a coupe...
The headlights certainly aren't making it on a production vehicle. Neither are the mirrors. However, I'm sure both can be widened up without taking away from the appearance of the vehicle. The size of the wheels and profile of the tires should be optional. I also think the suicide doors will be fine for a production model. I really hope something comes of this design, unlike the Sixteen and Cien...
Yeah, usually all the extreme styling elements that look kinda ridiculous never make it to production.
There are no suicide doors on this photo.... that is lame. From this angle, I would be fine with it if it had more CTS'esq headlights. Looks like there is a spot perfect for them. I also like it better with a roof.
Oh HELLS yes.
I like the Ciel Concept! Now, what is the actual car going to look like is another question. Cadallic and almost all the other companies give the eye treatment and then reduce the design down to something that is bland and just like their other car models. I just hope that Cadallic keeps most of the look of the Ciel when it goings into production.
GM has been tipping it's hand pretty openly with it's "concepts" the last few years. The Provoq was the upcoming SRX redesign hiding in plain sight as a "concept hybrid", right down to the interior door panels, radio and driver info center.
Everyone also thought the CTS Coupe concept's massively angled rear bumper, sloping glass and center exhaust would never make production- it did.

Based on this trend, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the styling elements from the Ciel, including the skinny headlamps, make it into production on the flagship FTS.
I'm thinking the skinny headlamps have a good chance of making it to production as well. With the advances in technology, lighting has really come a long way. So I have a feeling those skinny headlamps probably light things up as good as anything on the road. The car is probably closer to production ready than most of us realize. I have a feeling the suicide doors won't make it to production, at least the way they work with the concept, due to weight. Non-powered, maybe...
Finally figured out where I saw the shape of the side mirrors. Bet the designers saw it there too.
where? The shape of the George Pal "War of the Worlds" Martian exploratory pod with the multi tri colored lens.
Truly a gorgeous organic shape that works wonderfully on the Ciel.
The CTS looks like an overstuffed pork sausage grease ball.
The Ciel design team will never use humdrum tiresome and conventional door handles as you depict in your Photoshop picture. The entire concept of the Ciel is to be organic, innovative and fluid. Somehow, they will devise a flush handle probably with a spring loaded face plate that totally conceals the actual handle.
Is that a GM press release photo, that car is very close to production ready. the suicide doors are gone and there is a "B" pillar like it should be. The head lamp slots look a bit wider as well.
Those micro side mirrors could be housing rear view cameras, that seems to be the next step.
I do like this one, but I think they front end could use a bit more refinement but maybe it just looks odd in the pics.
Just an FYI. A Cadillac spokesman recently hinted that a hard top version of this vehicle is readily available for show...
I think that photo is from one of the car mags... C&D maybe?
If that pic is from GM, then they are moving real fast on this project. Cadillac is going to have an incredible next couple years, exciting times indeed.
I just read the press release on the new products from Lincoln and just about feel asleep.
