Exclamation Where is the multifunction module on 99 Cat

So one evening taking the car to the airport. As we were backing out smelled something, like burning wires, electrical. Stopped at the end of the alley and opened the hood. Some smoke came out but was dark, couldn't see anything so parked the car and took my truck.
Next day could not see anything wrong under the hood but noticed that the radio was out and the automatic door locks, when put in gear, do not work. The lights on the radio work and the radio comes on when the key is turned off after the engine runs. That appears to be the only symptoms.
From this forum I assumed multifunction module (relay K134 I think). In the book it shows as being under panel on LH of I/P, essentially behind the headlight switch. Pulled the panel and it isn't there. Looked all under the drivers side of the I/P.
So asking for help.
1) Suggestions on what might be the problem.
2) Where's the multifunction switch.
For reference, VIN #W06VR52R9XR012482

UPDATE: Found the aux heater pump is fried. Connector shows signs of high heat so must have shorted. Can I just disconnect this and still drive the car? Also, doesn't appear to help the radio.
ANy help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Where is the multifunction module on 99 Cat

Guess I stumped the experts. Just to clarify:
The location according to the manual is shown below, as well as the location on my car.

The radio, auto door locks, vanity mirror light, and map lights do not work when the engine is running. I believe this is due to the multifunction relay but cannot find the darn thing.
Again, any help appreciated.

Re: Where is the multifunction module on 99 Cat

On the '97 it was mounted to a plastic bracket directly on the underside of the steering column. Had to put my head under the dash to see it. It is about 2.5" x 4" by 1" thick with a connector plugged into one end, encased in gray plastic.
