Hi everyone. The caddy dealer unplugged all of my freakin vacuum tubes and I dont know where they go now. I have the service manual but theres more stuff under the hood then there are in the diagram...wtf. I had the car towed here so i could fix it because all it needed was wires, plugs and a new soleniod. what i didnt know was that there was gonna be a bucket of parts that have nothing to do with any of the problems sitting in the trunk. Does anyone have any engine pics?
thanks guys, I just got the missing parts from the dick that broke and lost them, im gonna go try to whip this thing together again. I'll let you know how it goes
Ok well i have some stuff that wont plug in anywhere where it reaches. I'm wondering if im still missing stuff. I put everything i had on and followed the diagram, but the car won't start. I don't think 1 vacuum tube and 1 sensor not being plugged in was the problem, it should have run in theory, just very rough. Anyway i have some pics posted here, the first one, the side with the bigger receptor should be the tube with the t-section, but where does the other part of the t-section go? is it to #1 in pic 2? and speaking of pic 2, where does #2 go? I can't find anything!....maybe i need glasses. on to pic 3, #1 connects to #2 right? 3 is just the old piece that is broken, the new piece is the same, just flexible rubber tubing instead of the rigid plastic. This is the piece that screws into the throttle body.
There is one line behind the intake manifold that is a vent for the transmission and does not attach to anything. I spent alot of time trying to figure this out myself.
thanks for the help everyone, budman, that line was freakin me out too, mark, your guide is better than the diagram in the service manual, good job. i had to remember that in england the brake system would be on the other side b4 it made sense though..lol. Babytf, can you be more specific? There's alot of nonsense back there, if you can, snap a pic. My problem was a missing solenoid, thats what all my extra stuff plugged into, however the car still won't start. I changed 2 solenoids, all 6 wires and plugs and still no go. I did everything the caddy dealer said was wrong. I'm thinking he didnt even check the coil pack. That looks like a pain to pull out of there. Who the heck decided to park that thing behind the motor like that anyway? Any of you know a half assed way i can check the coil pack without removing it? In theory if i pull a wire out a little way it should arc to the plug but since it wont start thats out of the question. I think the dipstick that first checked it out at my unc's house switched 2 plug wires around, i pulled them out pretty fast but i swear 2 and 6 were reversed, that wouldnt ruin anything would it? i would think it would just misfire, but this thing doesnt fire at all i dont think.
Just a thought. You may want to research the problems reported with the crankshaft position sensor. I have read that this is a common problem. There are several threads here. It may just be unplugged?
its hard to tell from the pic on the link which nipple is which on the solenoids. all of mine were unplugged and I'm not sure where they go. any actual car pics out there? 99 or newer
