1998 Catera Heating and Defroster

Remove this ad
Hi, the left side in my 1998 Catera is not blowing warm and the left of my defroster is also not blowing warm. Both are blowing though. The right side is fine.

What are the potential problems and most likely and what would be the approximate cost do you think?

Re: 1998 Catera Heating and Defroster

If the climate system works anything like the UK one then its worth doing a reset first....in eurpoe this is done by pressing and holding the auto and off buttons....next step would eb to check the vac actuators on the passenger side heat controls

Hi....is this more likely something a dealer would need to check out, do you think.

Everything blows fine....it is just the left side of the cabin blows cold including the left side of the defroster.

Re: 1998 Catera Heating and Defroster

check the temp actuators - see my other post today. The cog easily slips off the end of the shaft. I fixed mine in 5 minutes (after I found them). Two screws removed, unplug motor, reseat the cog, and reinstall.
