Wondering if anybody has one of the J 42069 Timing Belt Alignment Kits that they'd either sell or loan (for a reasonable rental price) for a short time?

For those interested, Baum Tools in FL sells a similar kit for $320. I also found a kit manfactured by Chain Auto Tools (http://www.chain-auto-tools.com), identified as their kit number AMM582V. But they're in Taiwan and say they don't have a U.S. distributor. That may be the same as the kit you reference, and as far as I know could probably be the same as the kit sold by Baum.
Finally, I found a place that claims to have the original GM kit, they're called SPX Kent-Moore (http://www.spxkentmoore.com/), and they want about $530 for the kit.
It's frustrating to need such an expensive set for a relatively routine maintence procedure.

I'm waiting for one to come from England from a place called tools in stock, apparently they are having trouble in getting my order stright, where do you live??? the KM tool is a GM tool provider, good quality but you don't need that, the one I'm trying to buy is less then $200. I used the KM tool and it is very good, the components i'm looking at are very similar.

Frank,
I am in Knoxville, TN. It would be nice if there was a loaner tool set that we could all use for this job. Since I have my son's car down until this repair can be made, I'm under a time crunch and really need the kit yesterday. The KM people said they can't ship until 2/23 (not sure if that is an internal delay or if they're waiting on backorder as well).

Where are you located?
in Canton ga. 75 miles S. of Chattanooga... i'm going to call England tomorrow and find out whats going on. I looked all over for a local tool, Caddy dealer lent it to me but I feel like i'm over stepping my welcome to go back, thus I ordered one, like the one Mark showed you. Ask your Cad dealer if you can rent his for a day?? He probebly has'ent done one in years, worth a shot...(i'm a GM employee soon to retire end of month) so I had little in...id I get mine I'll work something out with you.

Frank,
I pass by Canton frequently on my way to Road Atlanta.
I do have a local dealer contact and he's been great with offering tips and helping out, but he loaned his kit to another dealer and they broke the crankshaft positioning piece (cranked the engine with the piece attached - doh!), so I don't want to bother him by asking to borrow the kit.
I appreciate your offer of working something out with the kit if you get one. Likewise, if I run one down I'll be happy to share it with you. I could meet you half-way or something.
Late this afternoon I talked to a place in FL that just sold their last Baum kit, but he thinks he knows where he can source another one. I'll let you know how that goes.

I won't have mine until late next week, so I've been told. They are shipping it today? I was not in a hurry, but now I want to open it up again, no point though without the tool.
Frank, I'm assuming you didn't receive the kit you were promised this week? I've phoned practically every supplier that turns up in a web search and they're all out of stock, and have a sliding expected ship date.
