Are there any other special tools or parts required for the timing belt and tensioner change? bearing puller?
Also, is it possible to tell if the TCK285A tensioner & belt kit is the lastest design from the part number? Does the 'A' mean it is for a 99-2001?
Thank you in advance. |
I bought the Gates part which was the same number as the Delco, I suspect Gates makes this for GM. The same part number is used for 97-01. There are two sets of colored marks on the belt, I beleive this is to accommandate the update in pully location on later models, Mark commented on this. Read the directions carefully, not a hard job, and you need the set up tool you bought. The locks and the crank locking lever give you the location consistancy you need to adjust the cams left or right. ...............when you get done please let me know if you have any whirring type noise coming from the T belt area, mine is noisy but I dont know if that is typical or normal.....?thanks. All new parts installed...
