catera solar glass??

i have a 2001 cat. i put in my sunpass/ez pass for the turnpike in the front window by the rearview mirror. and it won't read when i go through a tollbooth.
someone said that cars that have this type of solar glass have an area where you can mount such devices and will be read. my gate access also doesn't work because of this. they had to mount a front license plate unit to enter my gated community.
any help would be appreciated

I have the same problem. My EZ-Pass won't work through the windshield. I use the NYS Thruway frequently and was told the Catera was on the list of cars needing a bumper mounted transponder. As far as I know there is no magic spot on the windshield where the EZ will work. I'm going to pick up my new bumper transponder this afternoon.

Doesn't seem to affect the Radar bands but I don't know about Laser.

I have the solar glass on my '01 Sport and had the same problem until I put the EZ pass directly to the right of the mirror at the top of the windshield. I haven't had a problem ever since..
