Need Help Misfire issue causing spark plug wire feilure

I hope someone can help with this issue. It started over a week ago with a misfire. After investigation I discovered the #2 spark plug wire was no good. I ordered a new set of wires and changed the plugs. At first the car drove perfectly and then when entering the highway for the first time the car began to miss again under acceleration. I drove the car home only having an issue when trying to push the pedal more than 1/4 of the way down. it was fine at idol and light acceleration. I did some more investigating looking for vacum leak etc. I thought I found the issue and took it for a test drive. As soon as I tried to floor it it missed bad again. This time when I came to a stop it was missing all of the time like it had originally. When I got home I have discovered again the #2 cylinder is not firing. I have not tore back into it yet because I am frustrated, Any ideas???? PLEASE!!

Re: Need Help Misfire issue causing spark plug wire feilure

WHat damage was there to

a) the original plug lead

and

b) the new plug lead....

Plus, is the spark plug fitted to the correct torque?
