Anybody Recognize This Part??

Remove this ad
I have a 1998 catera. I recently noticed a small oil leak under the front driver's side . When i looked under the vehicle i saw the oil leak was coming from a component (cylindercal, size of a tin can) located on the bottom driver's side of the radiator. It has a couple of hoses going into the top (looks like coolant hoses) as well as a red plastic knurled knob into the side of it. It sits right on top of part of the suspension frame( sorry i don't know the exact name)

I've looked at manuals and on-line but can't seem to ID the part. Any help out there and any idea how to repair the leak?

Thanks in advance

Re: Anybody Recognize This Part??

i had a friend put a white kitchen plate under the drip and it is definetly oil. A red / pinkish oil. I'm thinking transmission or power steering fluid. Is there a tranny oil cooler attached to the radiator and can that cylinder componet have anything to do with it?
Thanks
