It's a 99, with 94k on the clock. Great condition in other regards, and I have a $1,000 deductible.
Just wondering if the above will be considerable in monetary terms or if repair as opposed to not repair by insurance company is a given.
The only small compensation is I'm borrowing the boy's STI, now that is fun to drive. |
Am very sorry to learn of your misfortune. One good thing: you made it but your Cat did not. That's better than the other way around.
It sounds like a great car and '99 was a special year. Your attachment to the car would be understandable by everyone here and well justified.
That said, facts must be faced and emotions set aside. The car was getting up there in miles. Undamaged '99 (and other) Cats sell for a song. The cost of quality repair in this case easily could approach or exceed the value of the car. So please take your time and be really thoughtful about your next step. Investigate before you invest. Weigh carefully the possible impact of an insurance claim against your future cost for insurance.
Also, we are at the time of year when Cat prices are at their nadir. Make your move on a new Cat before spring and you likely will score a great car for the least expense possible. Try to snag a lower mileage Cat if you can.
Good luck!
