RADIO CLICKS ON & OFF 2000 cat

i bought a 2000 cat from a auction, and started to notice that the radio comes on and off while Im driving..When it cuts off, there is a clicking noise that comes on near the trunk of the car...I dont know wat to do..Cadillac dealer is askin me for $500 to reapair it

...The radio comes on for like 8-10 minutes and cuts off and wont come on for another few hours...PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Had the same problem with my '99 catera. Of course, the dealership is notorious for trying to rape you for every $. I took my catera to an auto electrical shop and found it was a relay module. This little device runs not only the radio, but your fuel door and trunk as well. I didn't discover this until I pulled up at the petro pump and couldn't get the fuel door open. The cost for this bugger was about $90.00. With labor (expensive), I ended up being $211 and change out of pocket. A far cry from paying $500.00.

Mine had the same problem, I jumped the multifuction switch pins 12&14, got everything to work except the radio would turn off immediately after shuting down the engine, also have to manually turn the radio on when yo start up. I picked up another switch at the junk yard for a couple of bucks. Everything works fine now.
