Re: Trunk problems

Ok I went to the yard and yanked another one of those long skinny high mounted brake lights, unplugged mine and plugged in the used 1 and BINGO, that problems solved. Now the trunk still isn't working but my fuel door is fine. Anyone have a trunk fixed and what was the problem?

Re: Trunk problems

I had a similar problem, neither trunck or fuel door would open turned out to be the multi-function switch under the drivers IP up on the left. Good luck

How long and hard of a job was that? My brake trunk light is half out... looking at changing it soon.

Re: Trunk problems

Or replace the failed diodes in the light to fix it....not difficult if you can use a soldering iron (or take to your local TV repair shop and ask them to do it)....

Re: Trunk problems

Thanks Marks... didn't even think of that... BUT will only look at this this spring (-24 C) isn't fun to work in outside (no garage).

See my next post (eventually), I have no heat in my Cat anymore... and after running through the diagnostic steps from the shop manual I ended up go to step 23: Replace Heater Core.... sigh.
