Heater Water Pump & Radio

So i've determined that my heater water pump on the passenger side is causing my #10 fuse to blow. I need to know what the part number is for a replacement. Also what is the most common thing to be leaking, is it the reservoir with like a crack? or do the hoses usually cause the leak. oh yeah it's a 2000 catera

Re: Heater Water Pump & Radio

Hi. I have read in this forum that if you disconnect the water pump the radio works and it doesn't affect anything. I know, you say how can it not affect anything? Well, I just did that, unpluged the water pump and the radio is working fine, but i am relunctant to drive a long distance with the water pump disconnected. I am looking for the same part number so i can replace the water pump and hopefully take care of my radio problem that has been inflicting me for the last 4 months. Good luck and let me know what you find out.

Re: Heater Water Pump & Radio

If its the water pump below the coolant expansion bottle then I am not surprised it doesn't affect anything as its designed to increase the water flow through the heater matrix to warm the cabin faster......its part of the cold weather pack in europe and very few cars actualy have it fitted....the one on the end of the rad is a bit more important.....

Re: Heater Water Pump & Radio

Did you ever find the part number and if so, what is the number?

Angry Re: Heater Water Pump & Radio

Can you please contact me with issues you are experiencing with your 2000 Cadillac Catera? I recenlty had issues with it overheating and the Bose Radio shorting out ... they followed a Cadillac bulleting to replace separate in-line fuses - radio now works, but they didn't check the cd player and that is not operable - they also said that the wire to the seat heater was the fault - the lights to the seater are on, but the seats do not heat up. Help!
